The Essential Smartphone Apps

This could possibly be the most random post I have ever written... For the past two days, I have been glued to a game named "Geometry Dash" which a lot of you will have heard of. After finally getting 100% on the first level, it gave me an idea; what apps can teenagers not live without? In this post, I'm going to go over a few of them!

1) YouTube
There's a chance you're thinking "Why isn't Twitter or Snapchat or something number 1?"... Well, because YouTube is more important. It doesn't matter whether your 13 and don't use Facebook, or 19 and send 100's of Snaps a day - YouTube is an app pretty much everyone in the world has on their smart phone. It gives you access to the land of videos but to be honest, a lot of us use it for music.

2) Snapchat
Personally, I think most teenagers use Snapchat more than Facebook (it sort of... died) and Instagram but don't quote me on that. In my opinion, people create Instagram accounts and don't use them where as Snapchat we don't stop using. Back on the main point, Snapchat could be the 2010 version of Facebook - super popular but as time goes by, starts to lose activity. For now though, Snapchat remains second.

3) Instagram
Instagram is certainly different; a social media site where pictures and videos are all you get. It eliminates something we see on every other social media site - rants and insults. Due to the growing popularity among teenagers, it's becoming more of a necessary app for us to carry in our pockets. Even if some of the time it's just pictures of Starbucks cups, it's still a brilliant app.

4) Facebook/Messenger
Messenger made it here because it's technically Facebook chat. Although Facebook has decreased in its popularity lately, it's still the biggest social networking site out there. Without Mark Zuckerberg, everything else wouldn't exist. You wouldn't be able to "tweet" if it hadn't been for him because he basically kick-started the social media revolution! YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram are still more popular (at the moment) but Facebook is definitely an important app.

5) A game of some sort
What I mean by this, is whatever game is the big addiction at the moment. Last year, we had Cookie Clickers (I'm in the trillions...) and after that came Flappy Bird. The huge one at the minute is Crossy Road which is surprisingly easy. All these games have simple objectives, and us teenagers seem to always have a thing for them. Of course, after a while that game is replaced but there will always be one on our phone at any point in time.

That's it for this post everybody! I know it was slightly random but hey, random is good once in a while. Remember to wrap those final presents (or use the gift bag I showed you in the last post!) or buy a couple of last minute presents if you need to.

Love you all,
Ems!
