I think it's pretty clear that I've shown a little bit of an interest for the wonderful book (and film!) Divergent! With its sequel film being released next year (March 20th in the US), now is a great time to explain why I love the series so much!

The Dauntless Symbol |
Okay so before you go on reading, there is a few spoilers so don't read it if you haven't read the book! The novel is about 16 year old (I think that's how old she is) Beatrice Prior, who lives in a post-war Chicago. The city is split into groups based off your personality and when you are 16, you have the choice to stay in the faction you were born into or transfer to a different one of the five factions. Of course, Beatrice or Tris (as she is known as from about chapter 8), transfers to Dauntless. Dauntless are basically the courageous faction. They are like the police of the city. But, she is also Divergent, meaning she doesn't fit into just one faction. That is all I want to give away because it is such a good book, worthy of a read!
The reason I love it so much is because, in all honesty, I sort of relate to it. Divergent's are different and don't fit into society, which is sort of like me being transgender and all. But of course, the book is incredibly hooking also. My second reason for loving it so much is that something like this is very possible; a post-war city where everyone has a job to do so we can survive. My final point is that the film has Shailene Woodley and Theo James as characters Tris and Four. Now, I think we've all established how beautiful and talented Shailene is (and how fit Theo is! I mean, that six pack...), but in this series she is just brilliant!
That's all for this "Why I love..."! If you like them, give me a comment and I'll make sure to keep doing them.
Love you all,
Ems
Let's go see insurgent together
